Just a quick post to let you know that Dive Charter episode 5 is now available online for viewing. This episode deals with “Adaptive Diving” and how the Scubatyme III crew handles having a group of disabled divers onboard. We interview the disabled divers, their specially-trained buddies and the program managers.

We’re proud to announce that Bill Cole and the staff and crew of Sea Experience has joined the Dive Charter family as our second featured dive boat! We’ll have more dive sites and adventures while continuing our “behind-the-scenes look” at a day in the life of a dive boat.

The shoot for episode 5 of Dive Charter went very well, despite some “sporty” sea conditions. We had 5 adaptive divers and their buddies onboard, proving that you can have a disability but still have ability! We dove on Abbey Too reef and did a nice drift dive so that everyone could experience the marine life we have here.

Now that shooting is done, the process of editing, graphics and narration begins. We’re working to turn this episode around pretty quickly, so stay tuned for further updates!!

We’re less than 48 hours away from shooting the next episode of Dive Charter! We’re in the process of charging up batteries, getting cameras ready, and gathering supplies and crew. We’re going to be doing an episode on Adaptive Diving and how the dive boat crew handles adaptive divers, as well as what it means to the adaptive divers to be able to dive…

As of 9.7.12, Episode 4 entitled ‘Wrecked in Pompano Beach’ is available for viewing online. We follow divers as they go wreck diving in Pompano Beach on the “Jim Atria” and the “Ancient Mariner” (including a NIGHT dive), and learn a little history on how these ships became artificial reefs from two of the men who worked to clean and sink them. We also see how the crew handles night dives versus daytime dives, and deal with a couple of divers requiring medical attention.

Episode 4 has a running time of 30 minutes.

It’s been a frantic 5 weeks editing all our footage from the show shoot on July 15. We had 6 cameras running, shooting a total of nearly 40 hours of footage, which had to be squeezed into a half-hour episode. The main video footage editing is complete, now we’re working on the narration script and adding music and credits. It looks like we’ll be on target to air Episode 4 in September.

We had another production meeting today to view the editing of the show, and to ‘tweak’ some of the editing. Things are moving along as planned! Keep checking back for more updates, and of course we will make a BIG announcement when Episode 4 is ready for viewing!

Today Associate Producer Jeanette and I interviewed Jeff and José, two guys who were on the crews of people that prepared most of the wrecks off our coast for sinking.  They told us many stories about the two wrecks we dove on Saturday – the “Jim Atria” and the “Ancient Mariner”.  We learned quite a bit about the process of getting a wreck ready for sinking. It will be very interesting to our viewers!
